air care / money grab

I can’t believe how much of a money grab Air Care is for the government of BC. This week I went to have my car Air Cared and found out that cars older than 92 need to be Air Cared once a year while cars newer need to be Air Cared every 2 years.  I asked the technician what is the difference in the test that is being conducted on a 91 vs. 93, he said nothing. The next question I asked was why does it cost $23 for a 91 and $45 for a 93. I was dumb founded by his answer. He says you pay more because you don’t have to bring a  newer car into Air Care every year. I was expecting to hear how they needed to do run some additional tests on cars newer than 92. Nope, what a money grab! It has nothing to do for the environment.
